Transition To Success – Sioux Falls Area

South Dakota Parent Connection is offering these sessions to provide information & resources to parents and young adults ages 14 – 21 with disabilities from the Sioux Falls School District.

The Students will:

  • Gain skills for using their voice
  • Understand the importance of making connections and building relationships
  • Build goals for the future based on their strengths and weaknesses
  • Learn how your IEP supports your future
  • Get tips for finding and working with agencies that can give support

 

The Parents/Family will:

  • Learn how their role in their child’s life is changing
  • Get tips for teaching their young adult how to speak up
  • Gain tools and strategies for making positive plans for the future
  • Learn how to support their young adult to navigate successfully through agencies and disability support systems

 

There are Two Sessions Planned!
Saturday, October 5th is for the parent/guardian(s) ONLY with a lunch provided.
9:00 – 3:30 pm

Monday, October 7th is required for the parent/guardian(s) AND the student with pizza provided before the session begins.
5:00 – 7:30 pm

Both sessions will be held at the Sioux Falls School District Planning Center (IPC) at 201 East 38th Street in Sioux Falls.
