Understanding the IEP Process
Join South Dakota Parent Connection for a five-week online learning series for parents and families of children with disabilities. Each week, participants will watch a short, on-demand session and then join a live Zoom discussion hosted by South Dakota Parent Connection.
During the live discussions, you can:
- Talk about what you learned.
- Ask questions.
- Hear ideas from other families.
- Receive helpful information you can use when working with your child’s IEP team.
Topics will include:
- October 8, 2026: Understanding Special Education Evaluation and Reevaluation
- October 15, 2026: Qualifying for an IEP
- October 22, 2026: Introduction to the IEP and Present Levels
- October 29, 2026: Special Factors, Goals & Objectives, Services and Supports
- November 5, 2026: Least Restrictive Environment

Online through Zoom
Attend all five weeks or choose the sessions that interest you most. Participants who attend all five live discussions will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card.
