The South Dakota Department of Human Services’ Establishment Program offers financial help to set up a private guardianship. The guardianship must be for an adult who lives in South Dakota. The Program covers legal costs up to $1,500. Establishment Program funds are limited and granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
