Avera Children’s is a hospital within a hospital and has a Level IIIB NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), in addition to the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Avera has the region and city’s only specialized child and adolescent units at the Avera Behavioral Health Center. Avera Children’s has a team of 30+ physicians working with specially trained staff with expertise in over 20 specialties. Costs may be covered by Medicaid, insurance, and private payment.
