DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nAre you helping a teenager with a disability prepare for life after high school? Join us for this resource fair\, a free event for families from Sioux Falls and surrounding communities who have youth ages 15–21 with disabilities. \nThis event will provide information\, resources\, and connections to help families better understand the transition-to-adulthood process. Families will have the opportunity to learn from experts\, ask questions\, and visit with local organizations that support youth and adults with disabilities. \nTopics will include guardianship\, Vocational Rehabilitation services\, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits\, transition services for youth ages 15–21\, adult services available after age 21\, and ways to plan for the future. DESCRIPTION:South Dakota Parent Connection is happy to offer this statewide support group for parents and guardians of children\, youth\, and young adults with disabilities. Families may join virtually or attend in person at either South Dakota Parent Connection office. \nThis group is a safe and welcoming place to learn\, share\, and connect with other families who understand your journey. \nEach month\, we will host a one-hour support group that includes a short learning session on a helpful topic\, followed by time for open discussion and sharing with other parents.
