Your experience can help improve systems for children and families!

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is looking for family members and a young adult (ages 18–26) to join the Family Partnerships Network Executive Committee and help shape how families are included in children’s health decisions nationwide.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is a group of 67,000 doctors who care for babies, children, teens, and young adults. Their goal is to help all children grow up healthy in their bodies, minds, and relationships.

Committee Members will:

✔ Share your lived experience
✔ Meet monthly (virtual)
✔ 1 in-person meeting per year (travel covered
✔ $1,000 annual stipend
✔ 2-year term

This 5-part, on-demand learning series helps professionals understand the transition-to-adulthood process so they can clearly explain the IEP transition plan, answer questions, and guide families and youth as they prepare for the future. Participants will learn about transition planning, assessments, services, and activities that build readiness for adulthood, and ways to support youth in developing self-advocacy skills.

Each session is practical, easy to follow, and designed to provide tools professionals can use right away. Participants who complete all training requirements will earn 1 Continuing Education contact hour.
