In order to give more parents time to take advantage of the Parent Child Journey stipends available for the class that starts this fall, we have extended the time line for registering and moved the class back one week.
The first class will start Oct. 4th.
Parent Child Journey is a 10-session training series for parents of elementary school aged children. It is for parents who are looking for strategies for dealing with problem situations and behaviors of their children. By the end of the 10-weeks, parents will have learned how to evaluate the source of their childs difficulties and individualized effective management strategies.
The course will be hosted by SD Parent Connection and facilitated by Dr. Jerome Blake, Developmental Pediatrician. Each week, participants will focus on one of ten Miles of Parent Child Journey Content. Parents who participate will be given access to online videos and information that they will complete at home and come ready to discuss via zoom with Dr. Blake. Dr. Blake will answer your questions, discuss weekly course topics and troubleshoot implementation of strategies.
The costs for this training series is $175.00. The first 15 registrations will be paid for by a grant offered to SD Parent Connection from the SD Council on Developmental Disabilities.
For more information or to register, email Dr. Carla Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration opens Sept. 7th.
Sessions will be held on Monday nights via zoom from 6:30 7:30 CT. Dates include the following:
