Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts\, connect with colleagues from across the state\, and explore current topics related to transition services. \nSouth Dakota Parent Connection staff will be presenting a breakout session focused on getting ahead of behavior concerns in the classroom. This session will explore proactive strategies that help educators understand the reasons behind challenging behaviors\, build positive relationships with students\, create supportive learning environments\, and address concerns before they become larger issues. The Supporting Striving Readers at Home workshop from Learning Ally helps parents and caregivers better understand reading difficulties and learn practical strategies to support their child’s success. \nIn this one-hour virtual session\, families will learn how the brain learns to read\, how to recognize characteristics of reading challenges such as dyslexia\, and ways to strengthen reading skills outside of school.
