Zoo Literacy Festival, Sioux Falls

Through books, volunteer readers, family connections, and coordinated community efforts, the coalition is building stronger early literacy outcomes across the city. This year’s Zoo Literacy Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This festival creates a fun, literacy-focused experience at the zoo for children of all ages and their family members. This fun-filled family day is designed to inspire a love of reading and discovery in a wild and wonderful setting. Families must have at least one child aged 0-5 years to be able to attend.

Free tickets are still available for families to attend the Zoo Literacy Festival. Click here to claim your family’s free tickets. This event is made possible through a partnership with Ready Together Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls School District, The Promising Futures Fund, First Western Bank, Dorsey & Whitney Trust Co., and Great Plains Zoo.
