SD Disability Awareness Day at the Capitol 2026

Join advocates, families, self-advocates, service providers, and community leaders from across South Dakota for the 2026 Disability Awareness Day at the Capitol.

This annual event is a powerful opportunity to celebrate inclusion, promote understanding, and highlight the strengths and contributions of people with disabilities across our state. Participants will have the chance to:

  • Connect with disability organizations and community partners
  • Learn about programs, services, and statewide initiatives
  • Meet with state legislators and policymakers
  • Share personal stories and experiences
  • Advocate for policies that support access, inclusion, and equal opportunity

Whether you are a person with a disability, a family member, a professional, or a community supporter, your voice matters. Disability Awareness Day is a time to stand together, build relationships, and work toward a South Dakota where everyone belongs.

Here is a list of the organizations available that day.
