Guardianship and Alternatives
April 3 @ 6:00pm - 7:30pm CDT
What are the Options and How do I Choose?
My students case manager mentioned guardianship at the IEP meeting, what is that? Why is guardianship important? What does guardianship entail? Who do I speak to about guardianship? What are the options for guardianship? What are the alternatives? How do I choose?
Carrie Geppert, Family Advocacy Coordinator from the Division of Developmental Disabilities and Amanda Martin, from Disability Rights South Dakota will introduce Charting the LifeCourse framework and tools to help identify whether guardianship, or alternatives, are a good fit for your student’s support needs.
Students, family members, and teachers should attend this event at K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library, Room 112A; 215 SE 4th Ave, Aberdeen.
No registration necessary.
Contact Carrie Geppert with any questions you may have (605) 362-4857 or carrie.geppert@state.sd.us
