Catch The Wave – Aberdeen, SD

April 13 @ 9:00am - 2:00pm CDT

$5.00

New Date Due to More Winter Weather

The Catch the Wave event is designed for high school students who have a disability and are thinking about going on to a post-secondary experience. In addition to high school students, others who may benefit from attending the event are parents, special educators and school counselors. A wealth of information is shared with participants!

A few examples of topics that will be discussed include: talking about the differences between high school and college, the differences between modifications and accommodations, expectations at the post-secondary level, and the importance of students having strong self-advocacy skills. The most popular part of the day is usually the Student Panel, which includes current or former students who have a disability and attended a college or university sharing their experiences and providing tips to students in the audience.

Pre-registration is required! $5.00/person
