2025 Behavioral Health Conference

The South Dakota Department of Social Services invites you to the free, two-day 2025 Behavioral Health Conference, themed “Your Journey Matters.”

What to Expect

At this conference, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about:

  • Prevention and Treatment: Understanding how to prevent and treat mental health and substance use issues.

  • Recovery Supports: Discovering resources to help individuals on their journey to recovery.

  • Burnout and Compassion Fatigue: Recognizing and addressing the emotional toll on caregivers and professionals.

  • At-Risk Populations: Learning about groups who may face higher risks and how to support them.

The conference will feature keynote speakers, including:

  • Dr. Kim Gorgens: A rehabilitation psychologist and expert on brain injuries.

  • Dr. David A. Jobes: A psychologist specializing in suicide prevention.

  • Jamie Tworkowski: Founder of “To Write Love on Her Arms,” a nonprofit focused on mental health.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for attendees.
